As part of a pilot program funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, several Washington programs are adding more options to the range of housing services they provide.

Domestic Violence Housing First strategies help survivors retain or access permanent housing quickly ― often bypassing emergency shelter. When programs can offer a range of housing options for survivors to choose from, it can free up shelter space for those who specifically want and need temporary, emergency housing.
