Kitchen: Harmonize

Minimization of conflicts and rules

Individualized lockable storage in communal kitchen alleviates many issues:

  • Protects residents with food allergies
  • Reduces conflict about missing food
  • Allows residents to control access to “treats” or favorite foods
  • Adds predictability and control to residents’ lives.

One refrigerator intended for a nuclear family will not serve multiple families well. Shared refrigerators lead to conflicts over missing food. Ideally, each family would have a locking apartment sized refrigerator.
